Graffiti has evolved into a fascinating way of expression in Egypt these days, emerging quietly a few months before the revolution, then explodes with the events of 25 January

Upon different sides of the graphite and its application is an exhibition titled "This is not graffiti" in a series of gallery, which opened on Sunday.

The term "graffiti" literally means to write, and the emergence of writing on public streets and walls has been around since man could mark the surface of the rock, the way early people could prove that they existed in a particular place and time.

An instantly recognizable form of graffiti began to appear sometime in 1960 in New York with hip-hop movement has its verbal equivalent. Graffiti, like hip-hop, is a basic, direct means by which young people can react against the government that interfere with their creativity and self-expression.

Maverick American artist Jean Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) was an unusual artist. Accordingly, outrageous color schemes and grotesque expressions are also an integral part of the works of Basquiat.In the year 1981, the artist came up with his first major work, "Untitled Head", which became one of his choicest pictures.

"Untitled Skull" is the work of various media and acrylic on canvas, set in 81 "X 69.3" frame.
