French artist Ema is a national pioneer of graffiti. She is currently exhibiting his works in the gallery in Glasgow between each coat to 9 October
Ema, alias Florence Blanchard, explores female graffiti in French art. She completed her first spray pictures on the walls of his home in Montpellier on the 13th It has adopted the nickname "Ema" in the early 90s, when he officially started graffiti. It was not long before she is adorned buildings and trains in southern France.She then attacked Barcelona, Paris and other European cities, before leaving for North America do to a doctor of molecular biology and of artistic exploration.
She uses acrylic, watercolor, silkscreen and spray paint on canvas. Ema creates a world of abstract scenes populated illustrative figures in a dream like state. Now based in Paris, she continues to explore themes of symbolism, genealogy, and science fiction.
